How to Put Contact Lenses

Wash Your Hands

Before handling your contact lenses, it is essential to wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water. Dry them with a clean towel to avoid transferring dirt or bacteria to your eyes.

Prepare the Lenses

Remove the lens from its case and place it on the tip of your index finger. Make sure the lens is not inside out. You can check this by observing its shape; it should look like a perfect cup, not a bowl.

Hold Your Eyelids

Using your free hand, hold your upper eyelid open. With the hand holding the contact lens, gently pull down your lower eyelid.

Insert the Contact Lens

Look straight ahead, and carefully place the contact lens on the surface of your eye. Gently release your eyelids and blink a few times to help the lens settle in place.

Repeat for the Other Eye

Repeat the process for the other eye. Always start with the same eye each time to avoid mixing up the lenses.

Clean and Store the Lenses

After removing your lenses, clean them with the appropriate solution and store them in a clean case. Never use tap water to clean lenses as it may contain harmful bacteria.
